Every major wake boat brand builds a good boat. The right one for you depends on how you ride, who rides with you, and what you want to spend, so the best way to choose is to compare them on the water.
I'm Dayton Linn at Waypoint Marine of Northwest Arkansas, and we sell Tige and ATX wake and surf boats. Yes, we're biased. So here is what I'd tell any buyer to compare, whichever brand you end up with.
1. The wake itself. Surf wave shape and wakeboard pop are the whole reason to buy one of these. Every brand uses a different hull and surf system, and the differences are easiest to feel behind the boat. Tige builds its boats on its patented Convex V Hull and says it produces a wake superior to other inboards. Don't take Tige's word for it, or ours. Ride it.
2. How easily you can change the wake. Beginners and experts want different waves. Tige's TAPS 3T system is designed to let you go from a long, mellow surf wave to a steeper one with the push of a button. Ask every brand how fast you can change settings and whether you need to stop to do it.
3. Space, storage, and freeboard. Count your usual crew and your boards. Check where the ballast and gear actually go, and how the boat feels with a full load. Tige's RZX models, for example, are marketed with a large Surf Locker for storing boards.
4. Engine and tech. Compare the engine, the touchscreen or control system, the stereo, and how simple everything is to use day to day.
5. Warranty and service. Tige advertises its Tige 5 warranty as the most transparent and comprehensive in the inboard segment. Read the warranty for any brand you consider, and ask who will actually service your boat near Beaver Lake. We've been serving NWA boaters for more than 30 years, and our service team is part of why people drive to us from other states.
6. Price for what you get. Get the out-the-door number, including the trailer, delivery, and any options you want. Then compare the same list across brands.
